Ovoko packaging volumes declared to the LUCID Packaging Register for 2022
In 2022, Ovoko drop-shipping department shipped around 3000 packages of various sizes to
Germany and, as a result, had to declare packaging volumes to the LUCID Packaging Register.
The process was quick, easy and cheaper than expected. We used https://www.verpackgo.com/
en/license-calculator/ and its Calculation aid tool to calculate estimated packaging volumes for
these 3000 packages. We ended up declaring 475 kgs of Paper/paperboard/cardboard and 20
kgs of Plastics. The total cost of licensing for these volumes was only 87.44 EUR for the year of
2022.
Your packaging volumes to Germany
Don’t know how many packages to Germany your company shipped last year? Don’t worry! You
can find out this number by downloading a report of your sales from Ovoko SaaS and then simply
filtering out Germany as a destination country. This way you will find out the total number of sales
or in other words how many packages to Germany you shipped in a particular period of time.
To download your sales report, login to your scrapyard account, press “Documents” on the left
side menu and scroll down to see “Export as: CSV (Excel)” button. Enter your desired dates and
click this button. When the .csv file is downloaded, open it with Microsoft Excel software and filter
out the destination country column with Germany (DE).
Now you have the number of packages shipped to Germany. All you have to do is register for your
LUCID number and declare the packaging volumes annually. Below you will find an explanatory
guide on first-time registration with the LUCID Packaging Register. Good luck!
Explanatory guide on first-time registration with the LUCID Packaging Register
If you are a scrapyard selling vehicle parts on online marketplaces such as Ovoko, eBay or others
and ship packages to Germany then that means you are a producer within the meaning of the
Verpackungsgesetz (Packaging Act) and need to register with the LUCID Packaging Register. This
is a step-by-step explanation which will guide you through the registration process.
The registration is straightforward and should take around 15-20 minutes. After registering and
receiving your LUCID number, you are required to declare your packaging volumes once a year.
Alternatively, you can watch this official video guide provided by the Zentrale Stelle
Verpackungsregister on YouTube.

https://lucid.verpackungsregister.org/, choose English language in the right corner and scroll to
the bottom of the page. You will see four different sections. Click “Launch registration process” in
the Producers section.
2. Then enter the name of your company, choose English language and enter the designated
person. The designated person can be the owner of the scrapyard, director or other authorized
signatory. After that, enter the login credentials for the future. Finally, press “Create login” and
then check your email. You have to press the activation link received in your email within 24 hours.
3. You should have received an email with the activation link within a few moments after pressing

4. After logging in, the first step is to enter your company’s master data such as address,
telephone number, company registration number and VAT number. There is no need to fill in

5. Since there is no Automotive area listed, simply choose “Other non-food” and “Other industries
and sectors”. This section is optional so it can also be left empty. Press “Next”.
6. In the next step you will have to provide details about your packaging. Tick the first box in the
Packaging subject to system participation section. Scroll down and press “Next”.
7. In the next step you will be asked to enter Brand names. If you use unbranded boxes, simply
enter your company’s name and click “Save”. Scroll down and press “Next”.

additions you can do so by clicking “Edit” button. To complete your registration you must make
certain statements and confirm that the data you have provided is true. Then press “Submit”.

There you will find License calculators which look very similar to each other. Enter your volumes
and compare prices at different system operators. Choose the one most attractive to you.
