With the growing interest and activity from Romanian buyers, we are officially launching Ovoko.ro – a localised platform tailored to the Romanian market. To support this launch and improve the buying experience, purchases can now be made directly in the local currency, Romanian Leu (RON).
This step not only helps buyers better understand prices but also builds trust and simplifies decision-making. Our goal is to create a smooth and transparent experience for both buyers and sellers in the local market.

How It Works

• Romanian buyers now see prices and make payments in RON.
• As a seller, you do not need to take any action.
• All orders placed in RON are automatically converted to EUR for you using a fixed exchange rate: 4.9 RON = 1 EUR.
• This ensures pricing stability and avoids confusion during the transition.
• All payouts to sellers continue to be in EUR until multi-currency payouts are available.

We are actively working on implementing a flexible payout system. In just a few weeks, you will be able to:

• Choose whether you wish to receive payouts in EUR or RON.
• Switch your preferred payout currency via a simple dashboard setting.
• Manage your finances in the way that works best for your business.
• We will notify you in advance and provide full instructions once this feature is ready.

Invoicing Details
To ensure tax compliance and transparency:

• If you use Ovoko’s automated invoicing, invoices issued to buyers in Romania will show both RON and EUR values, based on the fixed rate.
• If you manage invoices manually, please include:

1. The item price in both RON and EUR.
2. The fixed exchange rate used (4.9 RON = 1 EUR).
3. Any other legally required invoice fields in accordance with Romanian tax law.

This allows the buyer and seller to maintain accurate financial records and ensures compliance with local regulations.
